Texas Racing Commission Public Information Officer Bill Childs has made me aware of an error contained in the February 8 edition of News and Notes. Please accept my apologies and see his correction to the posting here:
As we discussed, TTA’s “News and Notes” of February 8, 2013, contained an error regarding Mr. Trout’s position on stays of suspensions. His position is that a licensee who requests a stay will be given up to seven days to explain why the stay will be in the interest of justice as required by Commission Rule 309.68. If at the end of that time the licensee cannot provide a compelling explanation, Mr. Trout is unlikely to extend the stay any further.
Many thanks to Mr. Childs for his clarification.
