19TH RUNNING OF LONE STAR PARK HANDICAP ON MEMORIAL DAY
Accredited Texas-bred Texas Air (Texas City – Malaysian Air) will face tough competition in Monday’s $200,000 Gr. 3 Lone Star Park Handicap for three-year-olds and upward going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track.  His challengers include Tapiture, Carve, Endurance, Majestic City and Cy Seven.

The Handicap is the second leg of the Global Gaming Triple. Texas Air won the first leg, the Texas Mile, by ¾ lengths, bringing his career earnings to $341,774.  Allen Milligan trains the 7-year-old gelding who runs for owner/breeder Paul Rigali Jr.

Also on Memorial Day, the track will offer special opportunities for fans with Jockeys & Java before the races in the Courtyard of Champions. Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast while you watch the horses on the track for their morning training. Track Announcer John Lies will interview a couple of the Lone Star Park jockeys. Afterwards, fans can take an in-depth tour of the stable area. Attendees should enter through the Courtyard of Champion gates located on the West side of the Grandstand. Gates for this special event open at 8:30 a.m. and the interviews will start at approximately 9 a.m. Shaded seating is available.

Fans are invited to a Meet and Greet Jockey Autograph Session from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the East Grandstand Entrance. A $5 donation is optional, but welcomed. All proceeds benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

Week seven of the 2015 Spring Thoroughbred Racing Season has CJ McMahon, the rider with the magic touch, at 39 wins. That is 20 wins ahead of any other in the standings. Trainer Karl Broberg continues his win streak with 30 wins. Good luck to everyone!

TEXAS HORSE RACING HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED
On September 12th, the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame will be honoring the following individuals who have helped make Texas horse racing great: Lukin Gilliland Sr., Stanley Beard, Sammy Jackson, Ken Armbrister, Dan and Jolene Urschel and David Straus for the horse No Le Hace.  This year’s distinguished service award will go to Ben Hudson from Track Magazine.
