A Texas-bred yearling colt by Midnight Lute sold for $200,000 today at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale in Kentucky. Bred by Virginia Jago Elder and Stoneview Farm Inc. and consigned by St George Sales, Agent II, the April foal sold to Passion Stable.
The colt, named Bright Blue, is out of the winning Gallapiat mare Lady Gallapiat and is a half brother to Texas-bred Lady Giacamo, a daughter of Giacomo who won the 2010 Texas Thoroughbred Association Sales Futurity at Lone Star Park and placed in two other stakes while earning $108,411. Lady Gallapiat, whose second dam produced millionaire and champion Meadow Star, is also the dam of Texas-bred winner Open Pleasure, by Open Forum.
