With a state as big as Texas, it’s not always easy to be at the racetrack for live racing, so the Texas Thoroughbred Association has compiled a list of links and information to help you find live video and race replays for Texas’ three major tracks. You can save time by bookmarking this page or bookmarking the individual links for each track to make it easy to access in the future.
Here are the links to video for Texas tracks:
*Sam Houston Race Park offers live video of the saddling paddock, post parades and races, plus replays going back several years at www.shrp.com/samhouston.asp.
*Retama Park offers comparable options at www.retamapark.com/video.html.
*Lone Star Park does not provide live video online but offers two options for replays. The first is at www.lonestarpark.com/LiveVideoAudio/LSPReplayShow and provides a complete recap of all races from a specified day. The other option includes individual race replays at www.lonestarpark.com/Racing/Race_Replays. Individual race replays are generally posted shortly after the race is run. If you bring this page up on your iPhone or Android, choose to save it as a bookmark/favorite and then choose to add it to your desktop. It can then serve as a Lone Star replay app and be ready to go with a tap. On the iPhones, as soon as you choose the race number, the video play button pops up; tap that and your race begins. On some Android phones, after you tap the race number, the video tab may open with the words “Alternate Format” at the bottom. Tap that and your race plays.
Another option is www.racereplays.com, which provides relays and near real-time race video of almost every racetrack in the country, including Sam Houston, Retama and Lone Star. This paid service offers a variety of plans. Another pay service option is Racetrack Television Network at www.rtn.tv. This service offers live racing and race replays nearly every track, including the three major Texas tracks. Horse Races Now is a free app developed by trainer Kenny McPeek and Susan McPeek that provides entries, results, live video, replays, and more for iPhones and Android phones. Currently Sam Houston is the only Texas track to have video, but entries and results can be accessed for all tracks. For more information and to download the app, go to www.horseracesnow.com.
These website options will work on both desktop/laptop computers as well as smartphones (iPhones, Android, BlackBerry, etc.) and tablets (iPad, Kindle, etc.), but some systems may require the proper software to be installed and the correct configuration to play video. HorseRacesNow is an app for iPhones and Android phones, as well as tablets.
