NEWEST ISSUE OF AMERICAN RACEHORSE NOW ONLINE
The Fall 2017 issue of American Racehorse magazine is now available online at https://issuu.com/southernracehorse/docs/fall2017.

This issue of American Racehorse magazine features articles about the legendary Man o’ War on the 100th anniversary of his birth, a look at the perils of riding racehorses with some amazing photos, plus a horse health article by Megan Tracy Petty, DVM. The issue also includes racing and breeding news from Texas and other states around the region.

ACCREDITED TEXAS-BREDS IN UPCOMING STAKES
Ol Winedrinker Who (Sligo Bay (IRE) – Silverup) will compete in a field of 6 in the $150,000 Zia Park Championship Handicap for 3-year-olds and up going a mile and an eighth on November 22.  The 8-year-old multiple stakes winner was bred by Sam E. Stevens and Sammy L. Stevens and now races for Gallegos Del Norte Racing/Miguel Gallegos et al.

TTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION
Remember to send in your ballots for the upcoming TTA board of directors election.  There are 6 candidates vying for 5 at-large positions on the board: George A. Bryant, Jimmy “Scooter” Dodwell, Corey Johnsen, Susan Moulton, Brent Savage (incumbent), and Doug Smith.  Ron Ellerbee and Brant Schafer are running for one seat to represent the Central region of Texas, while Sonny Ellen and Teo Mallet (incumbent) seek a single seat to represent the East region of Texas.  Successful candidates will serve a 3-year term beginning January 1, 2018. Deadline for receipt of ballots is December 15, 2017.

NOTES: Our condolences to the family of TTA Lifetime Member Myrna Rheudasil of Dallas, who recently passed away…Prayers for TTA Lifetime Member Jack Van Berg as he battles cancer…The TTA office will be closed November 22 – 24 in observance of Thanksgiving.  We wish you all a safe and happy holiday.
