GILLESPIE COUNTY FAIR RACING
On Saturday, two Thoroughbred races are carded, one of which is the $19,000 Texas Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes for Accredited Texas-bred 3-year-olds and up going 6 furlongs.
The 2-1 favorite is stakes winner Prada’s Bling (Too Much Bling – Kimbell’s Prada) who is coming off a 4th place finish in the $50,000 Valor Farm Stakes at Lone Star Park on July 15th. Bred by Hall’s Family Trust, the 6-year-old is trained by Isai Gonzalez for Adriel Gonzalez.
Steve Roubion will saddle 3-1 Crazy Ivan (Captain Countdown – Rhonda Legs’ Storm), bred by Jim Taylor and Jeanne Bruce. The 3-year-old gelding runs for Hamlin Ventures.
Arnold Herrera owns and trains Don’t Blame Dexter (My Golden Song – Don’t Blame Wayne), who is listed at 4-1. The 5-year-old gelding was bred by Three Feathers Farm.
Completing the field of eight are Moneyman John (Lexicon – Prahtheta); Raising Rumors (Sing Baby Sing – Loveyasister); Rangers Deelite (U S Ranger – Deeloca); S J Country (Seeking a Home – Isolde); and Ty’s Agenda (Beta Capo – Isolde).
The other Thoroughbred race is a 4-furlong $6,500 maiden special weight for 3-year-olds and up with a field of 9.
Sunday is a full card of Quarter Horse races. Post time is 1pm each day.

HALL OF FAME GALA

NOTES: This is the last weekend of the 2018 Thoroughbred meet at Lone Star Park. There are 8 races carded for Friday, 9 on Saturday, and 10 races on Sunday. Post time is 6:35pm on Friday evening and 2:35pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoons…Upcoming training hours for Lone Star Park – We will continue current training hours (6 to 10) through Friday, July 27. The track will be closed for training on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 and every Sunday from there on. Please plan to switch training hours beginning Monday, July 30 to 6:00am to 9:00am with no break…TTA Accreditation Manager and Racing Coordinator Jennifer Gibbs will be out of the office for two weeks beginning Monday, July 23rd.
