TEXAS SALE GRAD IN $100K LASSIE STAKES
Though not a Texas-bred, we offer best of luck to Silvercents (Goldencents – Carl’s Frosty Girl) in a field of 6 for Saturday’s Louisiana Champions Day Lassie Stakes for 2-year-old fillies going 6 furlong at Fair Grounds.

A graduate of this year’s Texas 2-Year-Old Sale, the stakes winner was purchased for $25,000 by Johnny Evans from the consignment of Pike Racing.  Silvercents finished second in the $98,047 Texas Thoroughbred Sale Futurity in July at Lone Star Park, won the $60,000 Louisiana Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Louisiana Downs on August 4th, placed second in the $75,000 La Senorita Stakes at Retama Park in September, and took second in the $100,000 Louisiana Jewel Stakes on November 16 at Delta Downs. With 7 starts, the filly now has a bankroll of $109,727.

Trained by Karl Broberg, the filly runs for Evans and partner Terry Eoff and has been given odds of 7/2.
