My Kathleen (Bob and John – Buck High) has been given odds of 10/1 in Saturday’s $50,000 Sonoma Handicap for 3-year-old fillies going a mile and a sixteenth at Northlands Park.  Bred by Jackie and Gerald Rich, she is trained by C. R. Smith and races for Dialed In Racing Stable, Smokin Guns Stable and True North Stable.

ATB AWARDS FOR LONE STAR PARK THOROUGHBRED MEET MAILED
Be checking your mailboxes! ATB awards for the recently concluded Thoroughbred meet at Lone Star Park were mailed yesterday.

Awards are based on a percentage of purse money earned by eligible horses finishing 1, 2, or 3 in any race in Texas. Percentages for this meet are:

Breeder Awards: 7.65%
Owner Awards: 8.00%
Stallion Owner Awards: 4.42%

If you are the owner of a horse placing 1, 2, or 3 in an OPEN COMPANY race in this meet, you will receive an additional Owner Bonus award equating to 13.46% of purse money earned.

TEXAS SALE NEWS
Horses have been added to the catalog for the 2016 Texas Summer Yearling and Mixed Sale, and will be available as a printed addendum. Those added are Hips 13, 43, 65, 78, 91, and 231 – 237.

The Texas Thoroughbred Association and Lone Star Park are pleased to announce the return of the annual Pre-Sale Party on Sunday, August 28 in conjunction with the Texas Summer Yearling and Mixed Sale.  This event provides a casual atmosphere in which to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the company of other consignors and buyers.

AAEP SEEKING DONATIONS TO HELP HORSES IMPACTED BY FLOODING IN LOUISIANA
The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation and other Louisiana veterinary organizations are seeking donations to assist with the rescue and care for horses impacted by the current flooding in Louisiana as well as for future preparedness planning and education for first responders.

NOTES: A voluntary microchip program for Thoroughbred foals of 2016 has exceeded expectations according to The Jockey Club, which by 2018 will transition to digital certificates for foal registrations…Congratulations to Texas-bred Bling On the Music on her 13-length win against the males in the Gold Rush Futurity at Arapahoe Park! Well done to the winning connections, trainer J.R. Caldwell, owner Keene Thoroughbreds LLC, jockey Luis Quinonez, and breeder W.S. Farish.  She is now being pointed to the Grade 2 Pocahontas Stakes at Churchill Downs…The Retama Park Thoroughbred meet starts September 2nd.
