Valid Expectations Filly Shines at Texas Show

A Texas-bred filly by Valid Expectations turned in the fastest quarter-mile time March 30 at the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Texas 2-year-olds in training as sale.

The auction, which also will offer several horses in training, is set for April 1 beginning at noon CDT at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The filly, named Tea for Two, was timed in a quick :23 flat for the quarter-mile drill. The dark bay or brown filly by Texas’ all-time leading sire is a full sister to stakes winner Bridesmaid and a half sister to grade II winner Postponed and stakes-placed Pardonmecomingthru. Second dam is multiple graded stakes winner Chapel of Dreams, a half sister to breed-shaping sire Storm Cat. The filly is consigned by Brody Veal, agent.
A colt by Harlan’s Holiday and a filly by Irish Road tied for the fastest furlong breeze of :10 1/5.
The Harlan’s Holiday colt, a Kentucky-bred to be offered by Wolf Creek Farm, agent, is the first foal out of the placed Smart Strike   mareSmart Music, a half sister to grade I winner and sire Include   and four other stakes winners. Second dam Illeria was a grade III winner atChurchill Downs and track record-setter at Woodbine.
Benchmark Training Center, agent consigns the Irish Road filly, an Indiana-bred who is the second foal out of the winning Deep Goldmare Nuggets, full sister to stakes-placed One Good Reisen and a half sister to stakes winner Da Candy Man.
