Obituary for Mr. Buford Dugger

Obituary for Mr. Buford Marion Dugger
Dateline: Three Rivers:

Buford Marion Dugger died peacefully at home and with his Family on
Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the age of 93. Born April 4, 1920 in
Lytton Springs, Texas, he was the son of Lee Marion and Ada Vanlandingham
Dugger. A lifelong resident of South Texas, Buford was a well known rancher,
cattleman, farmer, and businessman. He always had a special love for horses –
quarter horses, thoroughbreds, roping horses – and delighted in watching many
he’d raised go on to win Horse Races in several States. Buford was a natural
athlete, excelling in football, basketball, baseball, calf roping and team roping.
After graduating Robstown High School, and attending Texas A&M and Texas
A&I, he married his high school Sweetheart, Ida Belle (Jennings) Dugger.
High School Favorites their Junior year, Buford and Ida Belle recently celebrated
their 73rd Wedding Anniversary. After serving in the Navy (WWII), Buford and
his family relocated to a Ranch in Live Oak County in 1948. He was actively
involved in community affairs – a member of the Three Rivers School Board,
co-founder/operator of Live Oak Livestock Auction, co-owner of Three Rivers
Dairy Queen, and partner in LBT (White Tail Deer breeders). Buford was also a long time member – a Deacon, then an Elder – of the Three Rivers Church of Christ.

He counted himself fortunate to have formed many Friendships over the years,
young and old, and from all walks of life. On reflecting, he expressed gratitude for
“good health” and “the many and wonderful opportunities” he experienced.

Buford is survived by a loving Family – his wife, Ida Belle Dugger and sons,
Ronald Buford Dugger, Allen Scott and wife, Carol, and Thomas Lee Dugger
and wife, Sherry. Grandchildren include Dawn Rodriquez, Dusty Soliz, Geoff,
Ryan, B.J., Ashley, K’Loni, and Allison Dugger. Great-Grandchildren include
Joseph and Haley Rodriquez, Caden and Paxton Soliz, Jaxson, Cooper, Channing,

His parents, Lee and Ada, two sisters, Ella Dugger Herring and Vivian Dugger Good, and two brothers,
