Accredited Texas-Bred Owner, Breeder and Stallion Owner awards in connection with racing at Gillespie County Fair will be mailing as soon as we receive funds from the State.

Award amounts are based on the amount of Accredited Texas-Bred award monies available for the pay period divided by the purse money earned by accredited Texas-breds finishing first, second or third in any race at this track.

Based on this formula, award totals were calculated as follows:

Breeder Awards: 4.40174% of 1st/2nd/3rd purse money earned

Owner Awards: 4.94933% of 1st/2nd/3rd purse money earned

Stallion Awards: 2.53682% of 1st/2nd/3rd purse money earned

The total amount of awards paid out for Owner, Breeder and Stallion Owner Awards for this period of racing at Gillespie is $14,442.68. By law, 40% ($5,777.07) is paid for Breeders Awards, 40% ($5,777.07) is paid for Owners Awards and 20% ($2,888.54) for Stallion Owner Awards.

Please note that for awards calculation purposes, all individual purses are capped at $10,000.00. There are no ATB Owners Incentive Awards paid on restricted stakes, as the purse already contains added money from the ATB Program.

Also, if your horse placed first, second or third in an Open Company race during this meet, you will receive an Owner’s Bonus award totaling 8.034% of purse money earned. The first 25% of total ATB Awards is allocated to the Owner Bonus Fund, which equates to $4,814.24 for this meet. If you qualify for this new Owner’s Bonus, you will receive a separate itemized statement, and the funds will be included in your check for regular ATB awards.

ATB Breeder Bonus Awards for placing 1, 2 or 3 in Open Company races have already mailed out. Those eligible for full breeder awards will receive 4.0402% of purse money earned.

ATB Owner Bonus Awards for Texas-Sired ATB horses placing 1, 2 or 3 in Open Company races have also mailed. Recipients will receive 4.1305% of purse money earned.
