Claiming horses fill the vast majority of race cards every day, but these hard-workers rarely receive recognition so the Texas Thoroughbred Association created the Texas Champion Claimer Award, for Accredited Texas-breds who won at least three claiming or allowance/optional claiming races at Texas racetracks last year.  The winner is selected from a group of eliglble horses via online voting.

Bolton Express (Too Much Bling – Julie Mon, by Maria’s Mon) has been chosen as the 2015 Texas Champion Claimer.  Bred by Fletcher Properties, Inc., the now 4-year-old gelding is owned by Jose Luis Espinoza.  Bolton Express and his connections will be recognized alongside the other 2015 Texas Champions at the TTA Annual Conference and Awards Banquet at Lone Star Park on June 18th.  Congratulations!
