TTA PAC Endorses Dawn Buckingham for Senate District 64

Austin, Texas – May 13, 2016 – The Texas Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Political Action Committee has endorsed Dawn Buckingham in the May 24 runoff election for Texas State Senator in District 24. Buckingham, a Republican, is seeking to serve the district that takes in Bandera, Bell, Blanco, Brown, Burnet, Callahan, Comanche, Coryell, Gillespie, Hamilton, Kerr, Lampasas, Llano, Mills, San Saba, and parts of Taylor and Travis counties.

“We encourage all horsemen to make their voices be heard through the voting process,” said TTA Executive Director Mary Ruyle. “It is especially important to support candidates who recognize the importance of the horse racing and breeding industry in Texas, such as Dawn Buckingham.”

Early voting in Texas begins May 16. 

The Texas Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association PAC is non-partisan. The endorsement process is intended to draw attention to horsemen’s issues in an election year, increase voter turnout and build a stronger relationship between local horsemen and their elected officials.
