Texas Racing Commission Will Host Public Meetings to Modernize Texas Racing Rules

The Texas Racing Commission plans to host a series of public meetings in hopes of modernizing Texas Rules of Racing.

In a release (Attached Below), Chairman of the Texas Racing Commission, Judge Robert Pate, has asked that the Commission’s Rules Committee examine all best practices and use those as a guideline to update and modernize the Texas Rules of Racing.

In the release, Pate is quoted: “The Texas Racing Commission fully supports HISA’s lofty goals. We have problems with it as applied to Texas, but they are not reflected in our commitment to prioritize the health and safety of every equine and jockey participating in this great sport.”

Full details can be found in the Texas Racing Commission release. The public meeting schedule should be announced soon.
