The Texas Thoroughbred Association is seeking to fill the position of Accreditation/Racing Manager. This is a full-time, on-site position at the TTA’s office in Buda, Texas.
The TTA works to promote and enhance the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry in the state, and this person will work closely with breeders, owners, trainers, racetracks and the Texas Racing Commission with that goal in mind.
This position requires a strong attention to detail as many of the duties entail tracking applications and payments for a variety of racing programs, including the Accredited Texas-Bred Program, Texas Stallion Stakes Series and Texas Sale Futurity, and is responsible for verifying the accuracy of entry information for the two Thoroughbred sales conducted each year by the TTA.
On a daily basis, this person will assist TTA members and others in the horse industry with questions regarding any of the programs overseen by the TTA and will work proactively to remind TTA members and horsemen about upcoming deadlines for these programs.
The ideal candidate for this position will have some familiarity with the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry and a willingness to learn all aspects of the Accredited Texas-Bred Program. The candidate should also have strong customer relations skills and a genuine interest in promoting Texas horse racing and breeding. The candidate should also be computer literate and be comfortable using the standard Microsoft Office programs as well as the ability to learn the TTA’s specific programs. There is a limited amount of travel required to attend the two TTA sales in Grand Prairie and occasional meetings/events/races at other locations in Texas.
Interested candidates should send a resume to TTA Executive Director Mary Ruyle at email@example.com.
