MR MONEY BAGS IN IOWA DERBY
Roy Cobb’s homebred Mr Money Bags (Silver City – Miss Photogenic) will compete today in a field of 12 for the $250,000 Iowa Derby at a distance of a mile and a sixteenth.  Trained by Mike Neatherlin, Mr Money Bags has yet to run past a mile, but he picked up an 11 1/2-length win June 1 after leading every step of the Texas Stallion Stymie Division Stakes at Lone Star Park. That effort was a big rebound from the May 4 Pat Day Mile Stakes in which he finished last with a broken rein.

The 3-year-old gelding is out of Miss Photogenic, a homebred for Herman and Mary Motley, who was named 2001 Texas Champion 3-Year-Old Filly.  Mr Money Bags is the top earner for his sire, Silver City, who previously stood at Valor Farm.

The morning line has Mr Money Bags listed at 6-1.
